Chuck Allen founded Allen & Allen Law Firm in 1988 and has spent decades representing individuals and families throughout Anderson and Upstate South Carolina. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation for experienced legal advocacy, personal service, and a long-standing commitment to this community.
As the founding attorney of the firm, Chuck helped establish the values that still guide Allen & Allen today: hard work, professionalism, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to protecting the people who trust the firm with their legal matters.

Josh Allen was born and raised in Anderson, South Carolina, where he attended local public schools before earning his undergraduate degree from Anderson University. He later received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Before joining the family firm, Josh gained valuable courtroom and prosecutorial experience serving as a law clerk for the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable R. Lawton McIntosh of the 10th Judicial Circuit, and as an assistant solicitor in the 10th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. During that time, he handled hundreds of criminal cases ranging from DUI and property offenses to more serious felony matters.
Today, Josh brings that experience back to the community where he grew up, helping clients across Anderson and the Upstate navigate serious legal challenges with clear guidance and a practical, results-driven approach.
Austin McLain brings years of courtroom experience and a deep understanding of the South Carolina criminal justice system to his work at Allen & Allen Law Firm.
Before joining the firm, Austin served as the Chief Public Defender for Oconee County, where he represented individuals facing a wide range of criminal charges and worked closely with clients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant Solicitor in the Tenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
That combination of experience allows Austin to approach each case with a practical, informed perspective. He understands the stakes for clients facing criminal charges and works to provide clear guidance, thoughtful strategy, and strong advocacy throughout the legal process.
Austin earned his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The Citadel, where he was recognized on the Dean’s List, President’s List, and Commandant’s List.
